While Design Director at Chiat/Day we created the Destination Anywhere Tour. We signed up three bands that were popular amongst our target audience. We then advertised this 'tour' that these bands were supposedly in. Everything looked like a real tour, but upon close inspection at the venues, you'd see that those weren't regular venues, but more personal locations where you'd use JBL products, like 'living room', 'backyard', 'coffee shop'. We wrapped city buses in LA, NY, Chicago etc. to look like real tour buses. We also created a website that was a virtual road trip intended to take users on a multiple band concert tour. The online experience drew inspiration from the print ads to create a 3D modeled, well-traveled guitar case -- a visual pillar that serves as the main navigation for users to move through the site. By peeling back various stickers on the guitar, the user can access key product information, zoom in on crisp beauty shots and purchase the featured products. We created all the material to promote the Tour including t-shirts, out-of-home, product booklet that looked like a concert ticket, etc.
